The mission of the Rural Caucus is to identify and promote rural issues and candidates who are seeking elected and appointed positions at all levels of government. To this end, the Rural Caucus will partner with the CDP, Central Committees, Clubs, Assembly Districts, Regional Directors, and Democratic grassroots organizations to raise Democratic visibility, voter registration, and support candidates and issues.

On March 5, the California Federation of Teachers and a diverse coalition of labor, business, education, and faith groups will embark on a two-month "March for California's Future" from Bakersfield to Sacramento (launched from LA).

Along the way, there will be registration drives, blogging, tweeting, live video feeds from the frontlines, town hall meetings, delegations to legislative offices, and live events.

Here's the schedule:

March 5th:  March Kickoff in Los Angeles/Bakersfield
March 6-April 21:  March up the Central Valley
April 21:  March on State Capitol Building in Sacramento
